1 MQ - MOVEMENT QUOTIENT

Process: You may give each question up to 4 marks. '0' would represent not true for you/your organisation; '1' would be rarely true; '2' would be somewhat so; '3' would be generally true for your organisation most of the time; '4' means the statement is a good description of you/your organisation.

1.1 My organisation has (or, I have) clear outcomes for its (my) desired future - complete with target timings.
1.2 I/We explore a multitude of possible future scenarios - many 'what-ifs?' - before committing to a course of action.
1.3 I/We hold a positive attitude towards organisational change - welcoming it as a movement towards increased vitality and opportunity.
1.4 Ideas for organisational change are rewarded, and proactivity in this area is encouraged.
1.5 My organisation regularly relocates staff to give them exposure to new experiences and skills (or, individuals: I regularly seek new experiences through different career opportunities).
1.6 Our business/my role is fundamentally different from how it was three-five years ago (eg. 3M's shift from Mining and Manufacturing, to their current portfolio).
1.7 I/We actively and regularly measure moves toward our desired outcomes.
1.8 I/We set small incremental improvement goals, recognising the cumulative value of a 1% improvement in 100 otherwise insignificant areas.
1.9 I/We recognise that previous patterns of thinking will neither solve current nor future problems, therefore, we actively develop new thinking tools and paradigms for change and development.
1.10 I/We formally recognise the value of measuring our performance (eg, through Investors in People, or some kind of NVQ/behavioural model).
